Yesterday I was contacted to join a blog syndication beta with World Blog Archive. To be honest I had never heard of such a thing before receiving the email. The offer prompted me to do a little research to discover the pros and cons of this new concept.
Turns out this idea has been around awhile with one major players that seems to dominate the field Blog Burst .
Blog syndication is the act of aggravating many blogs to a single site covering a variety of topics. A virtual one stop shop for consumers looking for a centralized place to find information.
Pros:
1. Most sites are free for bloggers and offer links back to their original blog site
2. More internet exposure for your blog
3. Some sites actually pay cash for top bloggers
Cons:
1. Some sites do not over full feeds which seem to be more favored by consumers
2. By joining some sites you grant them and their affiliates royalty free, perpetual license to reproduce and distribute and even modify your content. (Read the agreement carefully).
I made the decision to accept the invitation from World Blog Achieve.
